Yr Afon -Great scenery

This is a really non-technical trail as the difficulty rating in the info suggests. This makes it a great ride for new comers to the sport or families. That said it also makes a great warm up for more advanced riders before heading for one of the more serious trails. Watch the speed though there are walkers on large parts of this route.

Was expecting big things from this seeing that it's seen as a bit of an iconic trail but it isn't a patch on the fab MBR trail! I'd much rather do 2 or 3 laps of the temptwir trail.

Challenging from the off and with some serious climbs especially from the cafe onwards ( i recomend you stop there to rest and prepare yourself for one hell of a hill!) but is more than worth it for the decent. Im gonna blitz the thin-stuff (prvate joke)

Got up to Coed Y Brenin the night before and crashed over in the van... up at 0800.. centre doesn't open 'till 1000 so had to do "what bears do". Anyway on the trail by 0840 and didn't see another soul until the very end.. took me 2:40 to ride and had a blast... The "Addams Family" set of singletracks are fantastic from Gomez and Morticia (fast and smooth) to Lurch (steep, rocky and technical. Quite a bit of climbing on fire-roads/roads but you know its just taking you to the top of more joy.
