BikePark Chilterns CIC and Watford Borough Council are developing sanctioned mountain bike trails at Whippendell Woods in Watford, Hertfordshire. This council-led initiative replaces previously unauthorized trails to protect the woodland's SSSI status and creates one of the UK's first semi-urban mountain biking facilities.
Blue Trail - Suitable for: All
An all abilities trail with rollers, jumps and berms. All features are rollable making this trail ideal for all ages and most types of bikes.
Red Trail - Suitable for: Intermediate +
The red trail builds on the blue trail, introducing more jumps, tighter turns and additional technicality. All features remain rollable and suitable for most types of bike.
Whippendell Woods are located to the west of Watford town centre and adjoin Cassiobury Park. The woodland can be accessed easily by bike from either Watford or Croxley Green and by car from junction 19 of the M25 and the A411 Hempstead Road. Parking is available at the Grove Mill Lane car park.
