Davagh Forest Mountain Bike Trails are located in the stunning Sperrin Mountains and offers exciting trails for all abilities including an impressive 16km red graded trail.
Davagh Forest lies in an untouched rural landscape of rolling hills and sweeping forests. Located approximately 6 miles north west of Cookstown.
This gentle trail is suited to young families and those trying out mountain biking for the first time. Starting on wide forest roads, the green trail is the perfect way to get to know your mountain bike and get a feel for riding off-road trails in a forest environment.
The second half of this easy going trail winds through woodland before crossing Davagh Water and following the meandering river back to the trailhead.
This trail follows the blue arrows with a series of fun twists and turns as you ascend from the upper car park. Keep left at the fork junction on the forest road for an easy spin between woodland and open hillside. On the return leg, you can pick up more speed and put your bike handling skills to the test on some fast flowing trails and more technical rocky sections. Be aware; the optional rock slab features located off this trail should only be ridden by experienced mountain bikers.
The Red Trail spans approximately 16 km, offering an extended and more challenging experience. A steady climb up Beleevnamore Mountain rewards riders with panoramic views before encountering a variety of challenging terrain features. The trail incorporates rapid descents, exposed rock formations, and narrow turns. Participants should anticipate technically difficult segments and sustained elevation changes throughout the trail.
The skills park begins with a boardwalk over a shallow body of water, into a series of rock drops and other features.
An excellent pump track to enjoy before hitting the main trails. This pump track sits near one of the Sperrins’ famous Giants.
Located approximately 50 miles from Belfast, Davagh Forest is signposted off the A505 Cookstown to Omagh Road at Dunnamore.
If travelling from Draperstown, take the B47 through the village of Straw before bearing left on the Sixtowns Road. Turn left on the Davagh Road signed East Sperrins Scenic Route and after 3 miles the trailhead will be on your left hand side.
