Coed y Brenin Trail Centre located in the Snowdonia National Park is home to miles of some of the best mountain bike trails in North Wales with miles to choose from!
With amazing scenery thanks to its location set in the Snowdonia National Park Coed Y Brenin is home to multiple spectacular rides across a wide range of trail grades covering everything from green rated to black.
Other facilities at the centre include parking, bike wash, bike hire and servicing toilets and food available.

Yr Afon Trail (Green 10.9km)
Explore the family-friendly Yr Afon trail along the riverside. This forest road path showcases scenic views, including waterfalls on the Gain and Mawddach rivers. While mostly low-level, it includes a rougher private track section, a few short climbs, and one steep descent.
MinorTaur Trail (3km - 13km)
This trail offers an excellent introduction to mountain biking for diverse ages and skill levels. It features stone steps, rollers, table tops, berms and occasional jumps. Includes short steep climbs and a rough forest road descent. The trail consists of four progressively challenging loops. The first three accommodate adaptive mountain bikes for disabled riders.
Cyflym Coch Trail (Red 12.6km)
Cyflym Coch is perfect for riders advancing beyond MinorTaur. This trail combines the forest park's best flowing sections with brief climbs. Features like Dream Time and Uncle Fester make it thrilling!
Temtiwr Trail (Red 9km)
This brief but technical trail at Coed y Brenin serves as an ideal introduction to our more difficult routes. Beginning with challenging rock slabs and steps, it features red and black grade elements and a demanding forest road climb. Successfully navigating this trail indicates you'll enjoy our more advanced options.
Dragon's Back Trail (Red 30km)
This understated trail demands skill from the start but rewards riders with the flowing DreamTime section - so enjoyable you'll daydream about it during your workweek. Big Doug guides you through towering Douglas Firs, Coed y Brenin's magnificent centerpieces. Challenge yourself on Hermon before climbing to the forest's peak. Your efforts are ultimately rewarded with five exhilarating downhill sections in the Adams Family.
MBR Trail (Black 17.6km)
This trail offers an exciting mix of rocky terrain, flowing singletrack, and modern features. Riders navigate bedrock, loose climbs and descents, berms, rollers, steps, and challenges like the 'Cavity.' Classified as severe with unavoidable fly-offs, riders should ensure they possess adequate skills before attempting.
Tarw Du Trail (Black 20km)
Tarw Du (Welsh for "black bull") is considered the UK's first purpose-built mountain bike trail, located at Coed y Brenin. This rocky, retro trail includes the new Y Slab section featuring large slabs and challenging terrain.
Beast Trail (Black 35km)
The ultimate trail challenge - physically and mentally demanding. Features technical climbs, rugged descents, and various obstacles including berms and tabletops. Experience the exceptional Pink Heifer, Big Doug section with 4km of continuous singletrack through magnificent Douglas firs. Will you conquer the Beast or surrender to exhaustion?

Y Ffowndri skills area showcases features from various graded mountain bike trails. It serves as both a training ground for beginners to develop techniques and a warm-up/cool-down space for experienced riders.
