place Bracknell, RG12 7QW
Swinley Forest in Bracknell, features 24km of all-weather mountain bike trails for all skill levels and bike types. The hard-packed trails maintain excellent conditions year-round and include red, blue and green XC trails, a skills area, and several downhill tracks.
The Green Loop provides 1km of beginner-friendly singletrack with gentle slopes to practice gear shifting and build leg strength. Ride it multiple times before advancing to the Blue Loop.
The Blue route offers a narrower 1.2m singletrack experience similar to the Green route but includes more challenging terrain with uneven, loose, and muddy sections plus small obstacles like roots and rocks. It features moderate gradients with some short, steep sections that require decent fitness to complete enjoyably.
The Red Trail begins midway around the Blue Trail. If you're up for a challenge, start at Red 1. This trail features diverse terrain including natural woodlands and tight singletrack, with steeper sections than the Blue Trail. Technical features include sharp berms, extended descents and climbs, roots, drops, and jumps that enhance the riding experience.
The Summit is a is a purpose-built skills area with trails for all ability levels (green to black), managed by Swinley Bike Hub. It features berms, rollers, jumps, drops, and various trails where riders can develop skills at their own pace.
The area is open via bookable sessions, with online registration and a signed waiver required. All sessions are supervised by first-aid-trained staff, but riders must select features appropriate for their skill level.
Several short downhill runs branch off from the red route at the midway point. Near marker 10, find the rebuilt red-graded line replacing the old Bikini Line—offering continuous features from top to bottom.
Nearby, Babymaker provides a separate red-graded jump line with berms and tabletops accessible via push-up. This compact area also includes additional red descents and jump lines such as Berminator and Deer Stalker, creating a gravity-focused hub alongside the red trail.
