Sherwood Pines Mountain Bike Trails

Sherwood Pines Trail Centre near Nottingham is a mountain bike facility with fantastic mtb trails and singletrack to challenge all from novice to enthusiast.

The Adventure trail is graded green and is suitable for all the family. The Kitchener trail named after Lor Kitchener is a red graded trail that is well worth a visit with a length of 13km. Sherwood pines is also home to a bikepark!

Maid Marion Family Trail (Green 6.4km)

The Maid Marion Family Cycle route offers a four-mile circular route through Sherwood Pines forest on all-weather trails. Starting near Sherwood Pines Cycles, this route takes just over an hour at a relaxed pace, making it perfect for families with young children or beginners seeking a brief, enjoyable forest experience.

Skills Loop (Blue)

The Skills loop at Sherwood Pines is a great place to practice and improve your skill level. With a variety of technical trail features and a mini loop of single track its a great place to have fun. Suitable for all ages and skill levels. Perfect for a warm-up before heading out on the trails.

Robin Hood Adventure Trail (Blue - 11.2km)

The Robin Hood Adventure Cycle Trail extends twice as far as the Maid Marion route, covering seven miles through Sherwood Pines. This fast-flowing trail suits intermediate cyclists with well-maintained bikes. While less challenging than the red-graded Outlaw trail, it's designed to improve riders' handling skills.

Outlaw Trail (Red - 13 km)

The Outlaw Trail is almost 100% of 13km of pure singletrack, the only time your wheels will hit forest road is when you cross one to hit the next section.

Despite its modest elevation, the trail maintains momentum through flowing berms and rollers, complemented by a strategic combination of rocks and roots that justify its red difficulty rating. The course offers consistently fast riding while presenting varying challenges throughout the seasons. It serves as an excellent introduction to single track for riders seeking to enhance their technical abilities.

Bike Park (Orange)

The bike park features two zones: Dirt Jump and Downhill. Both require specialised bikes and safety gear. The Dirt Jump Zone offers graded jumps with a pump track for beginners. Jumps range from beginner to advanced, marked with 'Freeride' difficulty signs.

The Downhill Zone begins at the wooden start tower and features four interconnected runs with rock drops and jumps. All runs end at Robin Hood Trail Climb from post 8. Please ensure your equipment and skills match your chosen terrain.
