Volunteers needed to help develop new mountain bike trail at Hamsterley Forest
Volunteers are invited to assist in the construction of a new blue graded mountain biking trail at Hamsterley Forest.
Work has recently begun on a new blue-grade mountain bike trail at Hamsterley, due to be open in Spring 2025. The existing blue trail is felt to be more of a green graded trail, so the new blue trail design aims to provide a better progression for riders. The new trail will enhance the existing network at Hamsterley Forest by offering additional options for intermediate-level mountain bikers. Its layout intends to facilitate smooth, flowing descents suitable for progressing skills.
The proposed blue trail offers several notable features:
- An approximate total length of 11 kilometers (6.8 miles)
- Situated within the eastern portion of the forest
- Interconnected with the current network of forest roads
- Intended to provide a more demanding experience compared to the existing Blue trail
