Two massive weekends of biking in the Tweed Valley!

Two of the biggest weekends of mountain bike action ever seen in Scotland will take place back to back as part of the 2013 TweedLove Bike Festival.

The ten day celebration of cycling in the iconic Tweed Valley will host not one but two weekends of non-stop action - featuring some of the biggest names in the industry.

First up on the weekend of May 25th and 26th is the POC King and Queen of the Hill Enduro. Last years sell out event saw over 350 riders compete around Glentress' famous trails including a number of stages on secret singletrack usually off limits to the general public. Next up is Natural Tweed on Bank Holiday Monday May 27th a free event where up to 200 riders can enjoy a non-competitive ride on the best natural trails the valley has to offer. It's a great way to discover some lesser-known trails and spin your legs after a full-on weekend of enduro.

TweedLove's second weekend (May 31st / June 2nd) looks set to be a classic in the making. Friday kicks off with an old-school style dual slalom at Glentress, sponsored by Sweet Protection. Riders go head to head in the ultimate battle of nerves ? and with some VERY big names already confirmed, spectators can expect exciting racing where anything could happen. There will also be a barbeque, some big tunes on the PA and a festival atmosphere rolling on into the night.

Saturday sees the arrival of the Glentress Seven. One of the UK's biggest and best loved endurance races. The seven hour XC/trail event will see solos, duos and trios take on a real rider's course, featuring not only some of Glentress? best loved routes, but also some natural dirt trails opened especially for the race.

And Sunday will see the action transfer to Innerleithen,  where mountain biking's biggest names will be competing in round three of the British Downhill Series. With the race taking place just one week before the Fort William World Cup, riders such as Peaty, Gwin and Minaar will be using the event as their pre-season warm up. The atmosphere will be electric and all the action is free for spectators.

TweedLove organiser Neil Dalgleish said: "Having two such packed weekends back to back is going to be amazing. There's so much on for bike fans ? whether it's smashing singletrack on the Glentress Seven or the POC enduro, or going head to head on the new Dual Slalom course. And what better way for the festival to end then heading over to Innerleithen and watching the likes of Steve Peat and Josh Bryceland fight it out at the BDS!"

And Si Paton, British Downhill Series Race Director, added: "The BDS will be the icing on the cake after a ten day celebration of all things cycling in the Tweed Valley. We will be working closely with TweedLove to ensure everyone's love of cycling is embraced, whatever their cycling discipline and nationality."
