Simply Downhill, Wentwood Trophy 01 March 2009

Simon Ward has been racing downhill since 2002, completing in the Dragons, Midlands, NPS and 4X races and using this experience he is planning is our downhill race for 2009. He aims to run an event which will be fun for everyone with the promise of absolutely no waiting in uplift queues (there will be no uplifts). The riding will all be on the Sunday, so no need to camp over night. The push up is a fairly gentle gradient, much of it is fire road, and all is away from the track. The plan is for riders to pass through the parking/pit area on their way to the top. The track at Wentwood drops around 190m from start to finish in around 2 min if your super fast! It runs through conifers, ancient beech, wide open sections and tight, twisty sections, all with great veiws over the beautiful Usk valley. Many thanks to the local trail builders and riders from Wentwood Downhill for maintaining the track. - BC points. - Great track. - No uplift at this one... get pushing. - Run to BC rules. - 2 timed runs.
