Lopes Returns to his BMX roots

For the past decade and a half Brian has been know for racing mountain bikes, but some of you might know that his love for cycling began at the local BMX track. This year he revisited this BMX roots when the ABA (American Bicycle Association) decided to honored Brian for his "Leadership, racing abilities and winning ways...." by inducting him into the BMX Hall of Fame. The ceremony took place during the annual ABA Grands race in Tulsa, Oklahoma. "It feels good to be back after 15 years, nice to see some old faces and some of the new talent..." said Lopes about his trip to Tulsa. Not being one to pass up competition Brian jumped on his 20" wheel bike and registered for the "Vet Pro" class. Lopes showed he still had some BMX skills by qualifying for the finals and ending up 5th in his class. Overall the experience was a memorable one for Lopes, who felt honored to be acknowledged for his love of competition. A warm thanks to the ABA for their recognition, also a special thanks to Clayton John for his commitment and passion to the sport. And to all of Brian's sponsors who made all this possible....
