Gortin Glen Unveils Remodelled Mountain Bike Skills Area
Gortin Glen Forest Park has unveiled its remodelled mountain-bike skills area, adding new progressive riding features to the County Tyrone trail centre.
The upgraded area includes two short blue flow trails featuring rollers and bermed corners. An advanced red technical trail provides a step up in difficulty, incorporating rock drops and tabletop jumps.
The new layout is designed to help riders practise skills including cornering, carrying speed, body position and jumping before progressing onto Gortin Glen’s wider blue and red trail network.
The completed skills area was used for the first Gortin Skills Jam on 27 September 2026. Organised by the Cycling Ulster Off-road Commission, the event brought together 37 young riders for coached sessions and timed runs on the blue and red loops.
The remodelled area is part of Gortin Glen Forest Park, approximately six miles from Omagh, and complements established trails including The Roller Coaster, Kelan’s Chase, The Mountain, Sika’s Run and River Run.
