Faster uplifts and and more trails at BikePark Wales? Yes please!

BikePark Wales has completed numerous projects, including a shorter uplift road, faster loading trailers, new trails, and overhauled classic trails. These enhancements are now ready for riders to experience and enjoy.

Uplift Updates!

It has taken us years (literally!) to get all the required permissions for this one but we finally got the green light to create a cut-through and shorten our uplift road.  Anyone who has ridden at the park in the last couple of weeks will know how truly epic this is, the uplift is now significantly shorter and buses are getting to the bottom faster meaning everyone is getting even more laps than before.

We have been prototyping and perfecting a new trailer design over the last two years and the first batch of production trailers are now in use with the rest coming next week. These new trailers load 50% faster than the old design, suit larger modern bikes as well as smaller bikes much better and mean less shifting bikes around to make them fit. Again, this means faster loading and more laps.

Trail News!

Now they aren’t dealing with weekly storms and they’ve had a long dry spell the trail crew have really hit their groove and have been smashing upgrades and new builds all over the park.  There are so many in fact we’ve had to resort to a list!

• Surfin’ Bird: Has had a facelift to improve flow, rebuild the berms and give this trail and even bigger grin factor.
• Pork Belly: This classic jump line has had a spring refresh with the jumps re-lipped and the line given some trail crew magic.
• Wibbly Wobbly: A few sections of this trail have been re-aligned to improve flow and carry more speed. Don’t worry though, it retains its classic feel.
• 50 Shades of Black: The crew have worked their magic and a new look 50 Shades is now open.
• Lower Boomslang: Unless you were living under a rock last week you’ll have seen we invited the UK’s best downhill racers to go against the clock on our new black DH trail.  Their opinion? Checkout Trail Diaries Episode 5.
• The Martian: Watch this space for big news on this trail coming VERY soon.
