Average Joe Reviews... Fox Unibomber Gloves
These gloves arrived not a day too soon after an encounter with a large branch which left me with bruised knuckles after a ride.
The Fox range of gloves has sometimes in the past been a bit bewildering in its scope but recently they have taken on a more logical form.
These full finger gloves are lightweight but surprisingly tough in nature with a carbon fibre section covering the outer of the two knuckles on each hand. The palm is a double layer of clarino and a soft terry type patch for snot and other needs is provided as well.
In short these gloves are great; some may feel that the price isn't great but they excel as all day gloves as well as DH gloves for beginners. For those looking for something more aggressive, Fox's DH glove offers a step up and full knuckle protection.
These have been tested out in the Alps and on UK downhills as well as endless miles on the trail and the only signs of wear and tear are the loss of the silicon grip strips on the forefinger (must remember to brake less!). After a few over the bars spills where hands have made the first point of contact with terra firma, these gloves have shown virtually no sign of damage. Not too warm even in the summer but definitely not a winter glove, these gloves are likely to meet all your needs.
