Average Joe Reviews 5-10 Impact Low Shoes

The 5-10 shoes and stealth rubber have pretty much kicked the arse out of the flat pedal market when it comes to the shoe of choice and looks set to continue to dominate. These are the second generation and are a considerable improvement on the first mostly due to the fact that they aren't made out of a type of material that soak moisture like a sponge. When it was wet, the old shoes really did double in weight, the new shoes have solved this by going for synthetic leather and are really robust. The real reason you buy these shoes is for the sole which really must have been dreamt up by a mad professor in a lab somewhere. Not only does the stealth sole offer unbelievable levels of grip on even the slippiest flat pedals, but it doesn’t seem to show a great deal of wear an tear on even the roughest pins. These have been in action for over a year and are still as good as new. Great in the wet and happy in the dry, they almost offer the same levels of grip on flat pedals as SPDs do, which still seems to defy the laws of physics. The only adjustment most riders find they need to make is getting used to not being able to change feet position freely as they really do grip hard. The only downside is the styling as the design looks a little 'Forest Gump' and their other offerings aren't easy on the eye either. This is a real shame as if they produced a shoe that looked presentable on the high street as well, most people would probably buy a summer and winter pair. All in all though, you are unlikely to find a better flat pedal shoe and will never look back once you hook these on your pedals.
