New Freeride Area Planned For Swinley Forest

Plans are in progress after discussions have taken place between The Crown Estates & Trail Team Swinley for a new mountain bike freeride area at Swinley Forest.

Initial discussions have taken place between The Crown Estates and TTS, and an area for the Freeride has been agreed - what we (TTS) now need to produce is an outline plan and top level design of what we would like the area to look like. To do this we need to pull together a small project team to produce the proposal.

The Initial Project meeting will be on Wednesday 12th November at 7:30pm. Location TBC. So we're looking for volunteers who want to be actively involved in this initial stage of the design proposal. We are under fairly tight timescales for our response back to The Crown Estates, so your availability over the next 4-6 weeks is crucial (it can be evenings / weekends or week days).

This meeting and the Project Team remit is NOT a call for volunteers to pick up shovels! If all you want to do is dig on the build days - don't worry your time will come - we have a lot of hoops to jump through, procedures, budgets and paper work to produce and gain sign off before a shovel can touch the ground.

So those that are still reading this and want to get involved please contact andy@trailteamswinley.com
