The next stop on the UCI World Cup tour is fast approaching and the circus is making its way to Vallnord, Andorra! Check out our preview of the event here!

Patch the work experience lad has been scouring the web for information and insight on the race and has put together this awesome little preview!

Val Di Sole, last time out Gee Atherton sailed into first place with an impressive time of 3.12.185, followed closely by Steve Smith coming in with a time of 3.13.186, and then to finish the podiums Greg Minnaar takes 3rd with a time of 3.13.435!

This weekends race is definitely set to be a close one with changeable weather conditions, steep sections and gnarly off camber roots the win could be anyone's for the taking…

The World Cup hasn't landed in Vallnord since way back in 2009 and since then there's been some pretty serious changes at the top end of the sport but the same names keep coming to the top of the pile...  2009 was the last time Steve Peat took to the top step of the podium and this weekend seems like as good as time as any.

Sam Hill topped seeding last time but will be hoping for a little more luck in his race run than last time out in Vallnord! Yeooow

Mens Results from 2009...

  1. Steve Peat
  2. Gee Atherton
  3. Greg Minnaar

Womens Results from 2009...

  1. Sabrina Jonnier
  2. Emmeline Ragot
  3. Tracy Moseley

Its crazy that even 3 years on it wouldn't be beyond the realms of possibility to repeat the same men's result especially with Peaty's form last weekend at the National Champs in Bala and Gee Atherton's current domination of the sport.

The womens result will almost certainly look different and I can't see anyone but Rachel taking the win but as always in downhill, Anything can happen!

Its prediction time…

Mens:

  1. Gee Atherton
  2. Steve Smith
  3. Greg Minnaar

Womens:

  1. Rachel Atherton
  2. Emmeline Ragot
  3. Manon Carpenter

We can't wait for it!
