Fort William World Cup - One last Bumper Gallery!
To bring our Fort William World Cup coverage to a close for 2013 we have 1 last gallery of some more great shots from Angus and Barney Samuel! Check it out!
Matt Simmonds will be disappointed with his race run puncture especially after a strong quali. He was the only rider I saw clear all the motorway jumps without even 1 pedal stroke. #aerotuck

Josh took a massive crash in Qualifying up at the top and could only manage to come home in 88th. He'll be thankful glad he was in the top 20 protected riders and automatically progressed onto finals.

It was awesome to see Troy back on the hunt at the world cups and he was clearly enjoying training with his new sparring partner. It was a big surprise to many seeing troy beat Aaron last weekend but I don't know if troy will get so lucky next time out!

Sadly many see the 4X as a bit of a side attraction but the saturday night saw some fantastic racing and massive crowds throughout the entire track.

We watched junior GT Atherton Racing recruit Taylor Vernon at the bottom of the woods section and he was carrying noticeably more speed across the cheese grater bridge than every other junior. He'll be gutted with the finals puncture but thats racing... I wouldn't be suprised if before the end of the year we see a GT world cup podium lockout with Rach, Gee and Taylor on the top spot!
Local Heroes, the Dudes of Hazzard had been busy with the tools and paint before the world cup rolled into town and had built this awesome river gap into the track!
The peoples champion Steve Peat was greeted into the finish with one hell of a roar from the 20,000 strong crowd. He'll be disappointed with his result but showed good speed and will hope to crack on the rest of the year.
Straight from the off, the track at Fort Bill is trying to beat both you and your bike up... Not even 20 seconds in and the bikes are bottoming out hopping this rock section.
Rich Thomas had a big crash in Friday practice on the fast section past the deer gate but pulled himself together to qualify for finals! Rich will be hoping for some more strong finishes this season!
It always amazes me that even after 4 and half minutes of pummelling the riders still have energy to throw a whip for the crowds... Scott Mears in his very loud Fox Racing kit shows us a fine example!
Brendan Fairclough was always looking strong when we saw him in training... I get the feeling he was showing a new focus to his racing this year even keeping the motoway section jumps squashed and fast. Interestingly he was clipped in for this race but rest assured the Signature Brendog DMR flats and those huge whips will be back next week!
Marc Beaumont was charging in practice and got incredibly loose on more than occasion up at the top! I was the first to admit I didn't think the old GT Fury was much of a looker but this new model is an infinite improvement especially when combined with the trick yellow/black One Industries kit!
Surprisingly there weren't any teams that we weren't expecting running the bigger 650b wheels. Surely those bigger hoops must of been an advantage on the bottom minutes sprint along the motorway!
And that's it from the Fort for another 12 months! We can't wait to go back!
