Wheels of Speed – counting the days

Only 15 days until the Bike Festival in Willingen opens its doors to all bike fans for the tenth consecutive time. With the German 4X Championship and the Wheels of Speed Downhill Challenge, the first weekend of June promises to be a great experience: 200 exhibitors from all over the world and the entire Downhill elite will be there! In less than three weeks, Willingen will transform into a "Bike Mecca". Whether it's Greg Minnaar, Steve Peat or Nathan Rennie - they will all interrupt their busy World Cup schedule in order to race the Wheels of Speed Challenge. This downhill event consists of two classes - amateur and pro. However, it will be special for the top eight of the amateur final, who are automatically qualified for the final of the pro class where 30,000 euros await the fastest biker of the World Downhill Challenge. The following 16 riders have confirmed their attendance: Samuel Hill (AUS) Steve Peat (GBR) Nathan Rennie (AUS) Greg Minnaar (RSA) Marc Beaumont (GBR) Mick Hannah (AUS) Neil Donoghue (UK) Chris Kovarik (AUS) Cedric Gracia (France) Filip Polc (SVK) Antonio Leiva (CHI) Markloff Berchtold (BRZ) Andrew Neethling (RSA) Duncan Riffle (USA) Calouri Claudio (SUI) Leov Justin (NZL) Beside the top 16 set riders, further downhill stars have announced their participation. The 11-time German Champion Markus Klausman will give everything on his home ground, in order to be one of the first. Also taking part will be the Junior World Downhill Champion Brandon Fairclough. Nothing stands in the way of an exciting ten-year anniversary of the Willingen Bike Festival. Besides the many exhibitors, the world’s best downhill riders and the German 4X elite, the Bike Festival also looks forward to welcoming thousands of visitors. The qualification for the Wheels of Speed in the amateur class will already take place on Friday, the final on Saturday. The qualification in the pro class will take place after the amateur final on Saturday. On Sunday everyone has to hold their breath for the fastest downhill bikers in the world. Registration in both classes is still possible on www.wheelsofspeed.de
