Mondraker Bikes forms UK based XC Race Team
High performance bicycle manufacturer Mondraker Bikes is pleased to announce the formation of a new national level cross-country racing team which will be hitting the British Mountain Bike Series this season.
Mondraker Racing UK is a three man cross-country team formed with some of the finest and fastest talent from the South West of England. Heading up the team in elite is the current South West XC champion Stephen Hodge who moves up to the top flight for 2013 following a solid 2012 season. Hodge will be looking to build on his standout season and settle into the top level of racing. Also joining the team is the current South West Cyclo-X Champion Dexter Hurlock who makes the move from the Sport category to expert and is looking to make his mark on the field throughout the season. Hurlock has shown great pre-season form winning three early races. Rounding off the team for 2013 is veteran rider and racer Brendan Murphy who has excelled in local competition and will be a formidable force this season. Battling his way through the large and always over-subscribed veteran field will be no easy task for Murphy but his commitment and fitness should see him knocking on the podium steps.
“We’re very excited to be working with the team this season” said Mondraker UK Marketing Manager Pete Drew. “XC racing has been at the core of the sport since the beginning and with such a strong team line-up we know they’ll do well and enjoy their racing season.”
The team will be racing the latest Mondraker Podium Carbon Pro 29er bikes with integrated stem and stealth carbon fibre construction. The lightweight and stiff bikes are finished off with parts from sponsors Race Face, Schwalbe, SDG, Formula Brakes and e*thirteen for ultra-high performance. Not only will the team have the best looking and performing bikes on the circuit but thanks to support from sponsors EVOC and Spiuk the team also have the best racing kit, softgoods and luggage as well.
The team’s first outing will be this weekend at the opening round of the British MTB Series which kicks off at Sherwood Pines.
