LOCALS: JJ Scott - Transition TR450

In our weekly feature, we are getting out and about on the trails to meet everyday locals and find out a bit more about them and their bikes.

Tell us a little bit about yourself?

Name: JJ Scott
Age:17
Location:Newton Abbot, Devon
Bike: Transition TR450

How long have you been riding?
I've been riding and racing downhill for about 3 years but I started BMX racing way back when I was about 6!

How often do you ride?
I ride or race every weekend now and get out for a normal ride probably 2 or 3 week nights per week.

What bike are you currently riding and talk us through your set up?
I have a TR450 with Cane Creek Double Barrel shock. It’s got Marzocchi 888 Evo’s up front which people never normally have much good to say about but I absolutely love them. I run Scwalbe Muddy Mary’s front and rear on Hope Hoop wheels. Full Saint drivetrain and some select Chromag bits and bobs.

What types of riding do you normally do?
The last 2 years its been downhill and a bit of dirt jumping but as of this year I have had a trail/enduro bike sorted so I’ve doing been some night riding and I’m looking to start some 4X this summer.

What was the last new bit of gear on your bike?
The last new bits on here were the Chromag Lynx saddle and some Black Chrome Chromag Bubars.

What are your local trails?
My local trails are probably Haldon.

What's your favourite part on your bike?
My favourite part is my suspension as a whole. I’m really pleased with how its set up and its running sweet.

What other bikes do you own?
I have a Transition Covert, a Tranistion Bank and a motorbike!

Any last words for us?
I’d love to thank my sponsors, Gravity bikes and Transition Bikes UK for helping me out with the bikes . I’d also like to say a big thank you to everybody who has helped me with my racing!
