LOCALS: Adrian Mcgoldrick
In our new weekly feature, we are getting out and about on the trails to meet everyday locals and find out a bit more about them and their bikes.
Tell us a little bit about yourself?
Name: Adrian Mcgoldrick
Age: 21
Location: Dawlish
Job: Civil Servant
Bike: Boardman Team Hardtail
How long have you been riding?
Not very long, just a few weeks around the forests but I've been cycling for a long time out on the roads.
How Often do you ride?
I cycle every day to work. and I ride as and when I can out here in forest.
What Bike are you currently riding and talk us through your set up??
I ride a Boardman Team Hardtail. Its absolutely standard I haven't changed anything on it other than sticking on a set of mudguards. Its got a pretty good spec with Avid Elixir 3 brakes, a Sram X7 2x10 transmission and Rockshox Recon forks.
What types of riding do you normally do?
I commute to work and I play about on the trails in the forest.
What was the last new bit of gear on your bike?
The whole bike is really. It's only about 3 weeks old.
What are your local trails?
My local trails are here at Haldon. I haven't had a chance to explore anywhere else yet.
Whats Your favourite part on the bike?
I really like the frame. Its been triple welded so you almost can't see the joins so it looks really sleek and its fairly light.
Next upgrade planned for the bike?
I don't think so at the moment. I bought a middle of the road bike to do middle of the road riding so I don't really think I will upgrade for a while, but you never know I might get the bug and start to upgrade things... We shall see.
What other bikes do you own?
I have an old Scott bike I use in the winter to ride to work and I also have a Diamondback which is a second "emergency" bike but it acts as a bike for my wife.
