Update on the storm damage from Sherwood Pines

As some of you may be aware, Sherwood Pines was hit badly by the high winds we had on Thursday 18th Jan. We estimate that around 70,000 trees have fallen or been damaged in the park! Unfortunately one of the worst hit spots is the site of the Bike Park. The Dirt Jump area is high on the priority list for being cleared. The soil is piled up for the beginner run and dig days will begin on this area as soon as the fallen trees are removed. The 4X runs are covered by many trees! It is not all bad news though, with more open space they hope to redesign something even longer and wider then the original plan. So, in a couple of weeks the work should be able to begin on the Dirt Jumps. Obviously, I will keep you posted. It will be great to finally meet riders and find out what you think of the work that we have been doing. The forest park is open as usual but please do be aware when you are riding around that there are still some trees blocking tracks. www.forestry.gov.uk
