Crankworx Les 2 Alpes: Action from day 1.

The first Crankworx to take place outside North America will launch in Les 2 Alpes, France on July 9. Crankworx Whistler has become the most important event on the freeride mountain bike calendar and Crankworx Les 2 Alpes is set to follow along in that legacy.

The Cannondale Dual Climb course is buff and ready to open as the first event of this weeklong mountain bike festival. Taking place on July 9-10 the Dual Climb will see downhill bikers and XC bikers compete against each other in a hill climb race format where mountain bikes equipped with 29-inch wheels will compete against those with 26-inch wheels.

This dual course was conceived and designed by French freerider and Ayton Concept consultant Pierre-Edouard Ferry, and Marco Fontana of the Cannondale Factory Racing Team. Cannondale will be offering up bikes with 29” or 26” wheels for interested racers to compete on.

Then, on July 12 the same spectacular dual course will be making friends with gravity and hosting the SRAM Dual Speed & Style event. These riders will race downhill, head-to-head, on the dual course. Speed is important but the ultimate decider will be the style of each rider as they will be awarded bonus time in seconds based on the tricks completed on three mid-course booters. This event is open to amateur and pro riders, but is limited to the first 124 registrants.

To end the week, the infamous GT Mountain Of Hell, fueled by Kali, race will take place on Saturday and Sunday July 14-15. The biggest names in Enduro racing will be racing down the mountain including René Wildhaber, Nicolas Vouilloz, Remi Absalon, Jérome Clémentz, Mick Hannah, Dan Atherton, Marc Beaumont and many more. The event sold out over a month ago with 700 riders registered and for the 13th year, the race format remains unchanged.
