Neko Mulally Wins The Gouveia International DH

Trek World Racing’s youngest downhill rider took a convincing win today on the slopes of the Portuguese town of Gouveia, a town which hosted Trek World Racing’s first ever team camp back in 2009. Neko finished 2nd in the race here last year, but moved up one step in conquering the newly laid out track.

In winning today the 19 year old Pennsylvanian took his first ever UCI International victory in Europe, following on from his career best 14th last weekend in the World Cup opener in South Africa. The season is starting off strongly for the young American who has his sight set on the upcoming Pan-American Championships in Mexico.

Neko said: “Gouveia is one of my favorite tracks and I'm really glad I had the opportunity to race here this year. It's so rough and fast which makes for awesome training. The Fox suspension definitely gave me an advantage today. The weather was beautiful all weekend and there were tons of local guys out racing. It's always hard to beat the locals on their home track, but I managed to put a smooth run together and take the win. I’m stoked on how my season is starting and I'm having a lot of fun and doing what I love. I’m going to keep this momentum rolling into the Pan-American Championships two weeks from now.”
