Schwalbe have today announced that they will be sponsoring the Caersws Cup Series in 2012. At a meeting at Schwalbe UK's head office yesterday Chris Roberts, Caersws Cup Series organiser signed the contract with Dave Taylor from Schwalbe UK.
This association was a logical step for Schwalbe with Danny Hart Winning the DH World Championships on Schwalbe tyres and also supporting the British Downhill Series Schwalbe see this as a stepping stone for newer riders into the sport at Regional grass roots level.
The 2012 Caersws Cup DH Series sponsored by Schwalbe is 3 round series and includes a Regional Championships race (TBC).
Round 1 - March 3/4th
Round 2 - August 18/19th

Chris Roberts had this to say:
'2012 looks set to be another amazing year of racing at Caersws, many of the tracks have had changes over the winter with a new track being built and now to add Schwalbe as sponsor to the series is a huge boost for the series. I can't wait to get the series underway on March 3/4th 2012'

Background:
Caersws is a private forest used for regional and national races over the past 5 years, we ran the first race at Caersws in 2003 which was won by Marc Beaumont riding for Royal team.
Since then four courses have build by the local riders to make this an ideal place to run a series on 6 different courses.
Course
The Courses at Caersws are ideal for testing the abilities of all types of riders. The course for the first round is the original Midland Course that flows it way down the edge of the forest and finishes in the big open arena making this an ideal place for spectators to watch all the race action.

The latest Tag Huer timing system displays your time as you cross the finish line. Results are printed within 2 minutes at the end of each category. All riders are reseeded for their second race run.
Camping
There is a big field for tents, caravans & motor homes right next to the finish arena.
Hot & Cold food and toilets on site which makes an ideal place to chill out between runs and watch the racing action
