Race Report: UK SuperEnduro RD1
Sunday the 2nd of October brought 81 competitors a day of fantastic weather making for ideal conditions with which to race the first Gravity UK Super Enduro held at Caesars Camp in Hampshire.
With a total of seven stages, two skilled and five timed downhill runs, and a total course length of 30km the race incorporated every type of terrain the rider could wish to race and ensured they left tired but with a big grin on their faces!
The two skill sections surprised everyone with the fun element and challenge they provided as well as a great chance to heckle your mates. The downhill timed stages incorporated terrain ranging from fast roller coasters to tight technical woodlands, steep drops/roll ins and challenging single track. We linked them all up with transition stages that took in the best the area had to offer from outstanding views across Hampshire and Surrey to picturesque lakes and fast flowing single track.
Despite a few teething problems on our behalf with course marking and the actions of some militant dog walkers removing signs and moving one crucial one to point in the wrong direction the overwhelming feedback from the riders was that we got the race and format just right so the series of three races is on for next year with the dates and venues soon to be announced.
