Red Bull District Ride: last wild card to be won!
Munich, July 19, 2011 – Four of the five coveted wild cards for the Red Bull District Ride have already been won. Now, there is only one free pass left for the final event of the Freeride Mountain Bike World Tour. One lucky rider will be able to take home the last wild card on July 23rd after the Red Bull Joyride at Kokanee Crankworx in Whistler (CAN) (live stream at www.redbull.ca/joyride) – the tension is mounting! Slowly but surely, it is becoming apparent which riders will have the honour of taking part in the most legendary urban freeride event worldwide. The best of the best will be recruited from last year’s and this year’s FMB World Tour top ten – although a lot can still happen until the end of the season. In the meantime, course designer and freeride legend Aaron Chase (USA) has been puzzling for months over the perfect course for the international rider elite and has a few surprises in store for Nuremberg. All updates and news about the main freeride contest of the year can be found on: www.redbulldistrictride.com The battle for the top of the FMB World Tour world ranking list is getting more exciting with every contest. The athletes are trying to get ahead particularly hard this year because they know perfectly well that the top ten of this year’s ranking can still qualify for the legendary Red Bull District Ride. 14 of the overall 25 riders are already set as they have qualified either with a spot in last year’s top ten or they were lucky enough to earn a wild card with a high rank at one of the five selected events. One of the wild cards is still looking for a deserving rider and in the battle for this last free pass, riders will be sure to give their very best at the Red Bull Joyride at Kokanee Crankworx in Whistler, Canada (July 23rd). Four athletes can already look forward to being part of the FMB World Tour final in Nuremberg: Antoine Bizet (FRA / 2nd place Chatel Mountain Style), Kyle Strait (USA / 3rd place Claymore Challenge), Teo Gustavson (SWE / 2nd place SKS Slopestyle at IXS Dirtmasters in Winterberg), Mehdi Gani (FRA / 5th place Vienna Air King).Latest news
