Cwm Carn gets new Freeride skills area

It's been a bit quiet on the South Wales news front recently but that’s certainly not because nothing has been happening. Firstly a totally new free ride section has just been completed on the Twrch Trail. This freeride section is an optional loop off the main trail, right at the end of the long climb. The planners decided to build it as an optional loop so that it’s doesn’t disrupt the original XC flow of the trail that a lot of people like, and it’s certainly a change from that. The new section includes berms, jumps, tabletops, doubles, timber drop offs, a corkscrew and the largest timber wall ride in the UK. As for the Visitor Centre, as we reported the old one has been demolished and the site cleared for the new build. According to the County Borough Council work on the new centre will be commencing any time now, with work hopefully completed sometime in the middle of next year. www.mbwales.com
