Its All Downhill In Kielder!
If you fancy the ultimate adrenalin rush then Kielder Water & Forest Park is the place for you! Some of the UK's most fearless mountain bikers will head for the 155,000 acre wilderness on Sunday 24 October to compete in the Northern Downhill Championship. Mountain biking has exploded in popularity over the past decade, with many fans speclialising in off shoots like downhill. It is the high-octane version of the sport and only those with full body armour, nerves of steel and a taste for speed will be saddling up for this event. Organiser Carl Davison, from Durham, said: "We'll be using part of the black rated Deadwater Trail in Kielder, which is a really tough challenge, especially when you are racing against the clock. The very quickest will be aiming to complete a run in about 2 minutes and 40 seconds, which takes a fair dollop of skill and courage."Latest news
