Halo BDS Round 4 at Moelfre This Weekend
Moelfre; scene of the 2006 British Downhill Championships hosts round four of the British Downhill Series this weekend and the big hitters are in attendance. World Champion Steve Peat will take to the hill, as will Marc Beaumont who is fresh from winning the Italian round of the World Cup. The best bit though is the open-sided nature of the track; with just one tree spectating is made easy! Here's the rundown from Si Paton... "Fancy watching 330 of the U.Ks finest Downhill Racers next weekend? Round 4 of the Halo British Downhill Series rolls into town on the 6th and 7th of August 2010. With a packed field of riders and trade, team pits, Monster Energy in the house and the legendary Farmer Jack on hand all weekend, you are in for a treat. "The track is 100% open, with only one tree on the course the average speed down this course matches that of the Cresta Run. Originally designed and built by Dan and Gee Atherton we have followed their noses and added several big berms and jumps. Up top we have implanted a huge car sized kicker with a huge loose gravelly landing over 32feet away. New corners in the switchbacks and a few diversions with one hell of a finish section. www.britishdownhillseries.com www.britishcycling.org.ukLatest news
