Aston Hill 423/Southern Championships

The Aston Hill 423/Southern Championships took place on Sunday 13th of September, and what an event it was. The weather Gods smiled on the weekend, the racing was first and furious, the new 423 course was drifty, dusty and constantly changing - giving no one rider an advantage - and the spectators were abusive, amusing and downright good fun. Once again, we at Aston Hill were all humbled by the sheer enthusiasm of the riders using and competing at Aston Hill - you guys undoubtedly made the race and make the park what it is. Dave Franciosy took photos of each and every rider which are currently on Flickr (http://www.flickr.com/photos/davefranciosy/), D-Line Films have put together a brief clip before they get stuck into a race film proper (http://www.pinkbike.com/video/99535/) and results, courtesy of Mikrotime, can be found here: www.mikrotime.com/ AAll at Aston Hill would also like to give a big props ands thanks to the marshals, Extreme Medics and Cafe in the Woods who all did a sterling job, and Madison (Giro, Bell), Fisher Outdoor (Troy Lee), Gee Atherton and Mountain Mania (signed 661 helmets), Continental, Descent-Gear.com and Dee Cycles for prizes and sponsorship. So that's it from us darn sarf. Two races this year, both of which we think have put Aston Hill back on the map. We're stoked - so stoked in fact that we're going to be doing it all again next year, maybe even with a few added extras. Watch this space and keep your eyes on www.rideastonhill.co.uk.
