Future's bright for Aston Hill
The future of Aston Hill Cycling Centre was secured this month when it joined forces with the CTC and the Forestry Commission to continue developing the centre as one of the South East's premier mountain biking venues. The all-volunteer Aston Hill Committee will continue to manage and develop trails, with the CTC, the largest cycling organisation in the UK, taking on membership and administration duties. As well as ensuring long-term security of the site as one of the largest UK land-owners, The Forestry Commission are providing support in the form of forest rangers, site maintenance and signage. Richard Abbott, Chairman, Aston Hill Committee said: "It is an exciting time for us, the support of the CTC and the Forestry Commission will bring huge benefits to Aston Hill and the riders that come here. The specialist support of the two leading organisations will enable the Committee to give more time to doing what it does best: maintaining and developing great trails." Aston Hill is now offering a new membership package through the CTC and there are plans to extend the centre opening hours: more details on www.rideastonhill.co.uk.Latest news
