Brian claims his 5th Air DH Win at Crankworx

On day four of Crankworx, the Air DH took over Whistler Mountain Bike Park, with over 381 competitors ripping down the world famous A-Line downhill run. New Zealand's young gun Sam Blenkinsop came flying down the nearly 50 jump trail, clocking in at 4:16.17 booting Australian Bryn Atkinson from the hot seat. With only Gee and Brian left to make their mark, the crowd looked intensely at the giant screen as Gee took the course and was unable to beat Blenkinsop's time. Leslie Tomlinson announces that Brian is on course, the crowd is quite, awaiting Brian's arrival. Lopes comes mocking down the GLC drop, peddling furiously to the finish line to claim his fifth-consecutive win. Posting a time of 4:15.69 – nearly five seconds than last year thanks to the dry conditions. Brian dedicated his win to Oakley's Steve Blick's 5 year old son, Tyler, who has been diagnosed with leukemia last month. "I knew I had to get on the pedals today," said Lopes. "It was super-rough in the middle but I knew I had to put together a good run.
