Transition Factory Racing: 2nd and 3rd in Plattekill PRO GRT Rd2

The Transition Factory team finished out the weekend with solid results, with two of three riders on the podium. Bryn took the 2nd spot against 68 competitors in the men's field, while Jill took 3rd in womens. Lars placed 18th while achieving his goal for the weekend being to successfully complete the event on a recently repaired thumb. All three riders were pushed this weekend by their peers, and are setting their sights on a successful US Open next weekend. Bryn had this to say: "Racing went well yesterday, I qualified in 1st, then finished 2nd, not exactly the ideal way to do it. But Andrew Neethling was riding really well, and he pushed just a little bit harder this weekend. Everything went pretty smooth for me, bike was dialed, weather was good, Nice to have Lars back at it too, he was only 2 seconds off top 10, not bad for his first race back! Unfortunately Jill hit a tree in her run and finished 3rd, but she is still doing great and taking her time getting used to the change in discipline". Jill commented: "Tracy Mosley has so much experience and was able to take 7 seconds off her qualifying run which was a ridiculous 3.00. Her time was competitive with a lot of the men's times. Buhly and I were battling it out for the #2 position, and I had a lot of fun giving it my best. I'm not sure how much time I lost hitting a tree, but I got beat, and this experience and learning from every run has been pretty exciting, so I'm happy with that. Just pinning it and letting off the brakes is not something you can just do safely, it takes time to build speed". Lars said: "I'm really proud of these guys, they've wasted no time getting settled into their new digs. And I'm pretty happy with my weekend. I really just wanted to come here and give the thumb a good test before the US Open. Yesterday in timed practice I ran a 2m 44secs run, which would have been good for a 3rd today. Conditions were much drier and faster yesterday, but I know now exactly what I did differently today than what was necessary for a podium. I'm really satisfied with my physical condition, and am looking forward to getting back up to speed over the next couple races. Thanks to everyone here at Plattekill for the hospitality, and for putting on a fantastic event". The Transition Team will spend the week training in the North East, and will head to Vernon NJ next weekend for the US Open of Mountainbiking.
