Nice! But i'm a little biased i guess. What model is it? Any clearance problems with the wide tyres? Im guessing the same is the same hydro formed frame with E4 stays as used onmy White Line Pro??

The Rocky Ridge has loads of clearance 2.4" tyres with no trouble at all. The frame is different stronger oversize stays more clearance with different geometry (slacker head angles for better d/hill handling, and longer forks.) You're bike is more xc frame with geometry like the Eldridge less aggressive like I say more xc orientated. I would compare them to Cove Handjob and Cove Stiffee you get the idea.

cheers for the 10. mates has a cove stiffee frame hes building up bit by bit when he spots a bargain, luckily he's still got another ride. but its a good way to do it.

original stock bike was just under 30lb now its under 26lb rolls well but strong and stiff enough to still hold its line instead of bouncing around off stuff like some xc rides where you have to tiptoe and pick your way through

Very nice but can be so much better. Only got rims on today so haven't been for a proper ride with them yet, as for which colour you should get chocolate will be more subtle but i think both will look good. If you're keeping those forks go for chocolate i think

yeh, love aggressive set up hardtails quick handling with loads of feedback, those foxes iron out the worst of it but the bike never feels vague - you know exactly what those tyres are up to, bet that stiffee is a similar ride.

thanks mate your GT's alright good mods looks the part. By the way the Ridge rides as good as you think it does. Price has gone up though for this year £1125 phew! Mates got an 08 Orange Crush thats a great bike and you can get em for £899 - bargain fantastic ride, we often swop bikes, the're similar ride rate crushorange see what I mean.

Like everythin depends on what youve got to spend, but main thing is what you gonna be doin with it. gt looks ok id prob look at kona/dmr for jumps/dirt /street but if you want somethin for tough trail riding not a lightweight racer id look at marin b17/northside or orange crush, rocky ridge strong frames with longer travel forks, agressive stance, better cred on trails, mates got crush check crushorange rate see what he thinks but remember god rides a marin.

its marins uk (not a u.s. model) hardcore hardtail hooligan bike, an aggressive attack bike for trails and singletrack, sharp handling,tough frame, loads of mud clearance, 140mm fork. what more could you want. its a marin, its white, its mine!

Love hardcore hardtails. Versatile, skill sharpening, good for jumping, flickable. Does this have bolt through front axle, really feel the flex in the quick release forks on mine.

Would prefer bolt through specially if I change to Spank wheels but not that much flex to be concerned about hey perhaps i'm not pushin hard enough! riding buddy is crushorange have rode his bike the crush is similar, handling probably bit more neutral, ridge does feel more responsive,sharper even twitchy, and even though theres not much between the weights -the crush feels heavier, bit more planted at speed.(mate has halo sas so that might be it)but thats being really critical both great bikes that certainly feel strong and make you feel you can tackle anything. wouldnt change my bike for any full susser (even a mount vision or patriot) well not yet anyway, mate says same.

£995. 09 model now £1125 ace package for the money. I had to shop around for the last of the 08s (this was june) and faced having to wait for 09 model marin had ran out says it all. ace reviews prefer the 08 model better graphics coil shock. buyit. mate rides an 08 orange crush - similar bike, tough hardcore hardtail - not another racing spesh - yawn!

I had to shop around and bagged one of the few remaining 08's @ £995 , 09 models out now £1125. (new fox air shock replaced coil van)if you can find an 08 snap it up! hardtails rule!

Hey, I've done nothing to it I love it just the way it is! :) I can't say I've found any weaknesses, my one has only got the double chainset which took a bit of getting used to but overall I couldn't fault it one bit. Did the Kona Mash-Up on it yesterday which was a blast! Me thinks you'll love it too!!

after riding for a year have you found any weaknesses on the bike/ suggest any mods, mines tops after 4 mths (hayes pads glaze over only thing) but thinking of hope hubs with halo rims and poss skinnier tyres for winter mud.
