Hi there I actually used a Fsa the pig 1.5 inch headset bearing and custom made the bearing races on a Cnc lathe at work.
But it is a 1 1'8 semi integrated headset for the frame mate originally designed to be used but I wanted bigger forks in it.

i have 1 of these in black, built on a budget as most seem to do with this frame, its a shame cos it a very good frame, this has to be the best spec'd 1 i have seen to date, how dus it handle with the long travels on it? im only riding 100mm travel at min but i am buying a set of 130mm's for it soon. Nice Bike :)

TANKATOY replied... on 28 June 2011

CHEERS MATE I THINK IT HANDLES BRILLIANTLY WITH THEM I DID THIS TO TRY IT AFTER JUST USING 100MM FORKS ON MY OTHER BIKE AND WANTED SOMETHING A BIT LONGER TRAVEL I THINK THEY ARE STRONG, WELL BUILT FRAMES JUST WATCH THE MECH HANGER THAT COMES WITH IT SLIGHTLY WEAKER THAN NORMAL.

Nice looking bike, What do you use it for because i have just bought this and i was thinking of using 170mm forks for freeriding, do you think this frame could handle that kind of beating?

TANKATOY replied... on 29 April 2011

IT HANDLES IT FINE MATE THATS WHAT I DO WITH IT AND USE THE LOCKOUT FUNCTION ON MY FORKS TO HELP ME WITH DIRT JUMPING FEELS GREAT WHEN RIDING.

what headsets can you get for this frame becuz i just bought one and i can't find a headset for it

andrewlittle09 replied... on 9 January 2011

hmmm ok mate cheers

TANKATOY replied... on 9 January 2011

IF I REMEMBER MATE THE CUP SIZE IS 42MM OR 44MM I THINK IT IS 42MM THOUGH AND I HAVE TRIED ONE OF THESE HEADSETS IN IT AND THEY ARE COOL USE FIT THE BEARINGS INSIDE THE FRAME SO IT ALLOWS FOR A LOWER RIDE OON THE FRONT MAKING IT MORE AGGRESIVE.

andrewlittle09 replied... on 8 January 2011

cheers does it matter about the cup size for the headset and i'll probz buy one off chainreactioncycles

TANKATOY replied... on 8 January 2011

Hi there mate you need an 1“8th integrated headset to run standard forks. But I choose to go another route and made up some bearing races and then used the bearings out of a pig one point five headset to allow me to run bigger forks in it. Hope this helps.
