Summary:
a really good long cross country ride

Review:
Made it around the entire red route at Dalby yesterday. it chucked it down with rain the whole journey there (from Newcastle area)so we thought we were in for a long wet morning but on arrivalthe rain stopped and held off the rest of the day, thankfully. However visabilty was poor as the forest was thick with fog so if there are any good view to be had wedidn't see them, not that any of this impacted on our enjoyment of the trail.
The trail itself was great, we were well prepared for what to expect from reading the moredirt reviews and it did not disappoint.
The trail makes the most of very litle elevation so there are a lot of short ups and downs. The percentage of single track is awesome and there are large flat single track sections which unlike many xc red trails give you the opportunity to get the pedal down whilst manoeuvering your way around fairly narrow trail, great fun.
The distance of the trail is wicked (in a good and bad way) the lastcouple of km my legs were feeling it but that just added to the enjoyment.
The only downside to this trail for me was the lack of a meaty end, most trails I've done finish off with a bang but Dalby has an even feel the whole way round which in itself is a positive.
A lot of the drop offs placed along the way are jumpable and add this with all of the intended jumps on route and you've got big grins.
In summary; an excellent trail, challenging in technicality and endurance I will most certainly be back for more

Class!

Review:
This is a great buzz of a track - not too long like the red route, and just a little more technical with some fun step downs over tree routes and nicely placed rocks to clamber over/jump/drop off.

I didn't see where this 5ft srop off was, unless it was the rather large rock that you could ride down anyways.. perhaps it was in the trees somewehere on an alternative path..

My only critisism would be after you do the excellent north shore ditch section, you end up crossing a third fire road and down into a more off road, rocky/muddy surface. This follows the same direction as you had been travelling but it seems like a different route. I couldn't help thinking I was on the wrong route. Then it seemed to stop pointing the way with black arrow signs.. then I got lost! I ended up joing onto the last 3rd of the red route and not back to the carpark where I needed to get too. This was probably just me being dense but I sure could have done with a Garmin!

Like Doing the Great North Run on your bike

Review:
When I saw that the entire red route consisted of x 4 smaller red routes I stewed over which one to try. Stuff it I thought, I'm only here for the day, I've paid ?7 parking, I'm gonna do the lot. 37kms (approx 23miles?) It didn't seem too long at first but by halfway round I was feeling the push.. by the time I got to the final waymarkers (30 - 37) I was absolutely frubar'd!!

If your fit, this is a wicked trail. Don't get me wrong, an absolute blast with all kinds of features such as fast flowing single track, rock jumps, big gnarly berms etc, but if your not super fit like me then be prepared for pain soldier! I mean the tough climbs up hill type. The switchbacks uphill near the end just became impossible for me - normally I'd be able to tackle these buit I ended up having to push my bike more than a few times.!!

Very rememorable but haven't felt exhaustion like this since I did the Great North Run in 2003.
But then again, i'm a big man, but out of shape.

a joke

Review:
this place could have been so good had someone with any idea had known what they were doing,4x track far to much pedalling with no flow in the jumps, table tops are full on or not at all,the lump on the roll in should not be there, also should be a smaller set next to them, the skinnies so much waste here, bad landing spots, they could of being higher, and could of had run outs into the fire road below

It never seemed to end. Some great parts which can test you. Greatly enjoyed it, but very tiring.
