Description
Dobsons Ride (Formby Trail)is a great ride to re-acquaint yourself to MTB. The terrain is moderate taking you behind Woodvale RAF Airbase on the Formby By Pass and across Formby Golf Club.
Great for evening rides when most families/walkers are off the trail. Ideal for building up your confidence and getting used to handling a bike again on rough terrain with a few ups and downs. The ride takes you either across the Golf Course and onwards to Freshfields or take the right trail along the short Fishermans trail towards the dunes,this is a great little forest trek with a few descents and ascents to ease you back into your stride.
Parking can be difficult but local parking on Pinfold Lane adjacent is possible taking into consideration the residents. Walk along the flyover and enter the trail via the sandy track.
There are a number of jumps within the woods developed by the locals if that's your desire!
If you're new to MTB or, starting out again this is a great training ground to get you on your way and most of all.
