Last weekend saw the second round of the Rocky Roads UCI Mountain Bike Downhill World Cup stop off in Val Di Sole, Italy, which also combined with the third round of the 4X Pro Tour - it was the first time this year that the entire Team CRC/Nukeproof downhill and 4X riders had been together for a weekend of race action.

After setting the fastest qualifying time yesterday by more than 7 seconds, Trek World Racing's Aaron Gwin displayed incredible poise and composure to once again win by a similar margin today in the finals here at Val di Sole, Italy.

Yesterday saw qualification take place in Val Di Sole, Italy for round 3 of the 4X ProTour. The track here is long, fast and today was extremely dry and dusty. At about 46 seconds long and average speeds of 36 km/h, the action was fast and furious.

Team CRC/Nukeproof headed to the second round of the BDS Series over the weekend in Fort William, Scotland, ready to take on one of the most brutal courses in the world. Matt Simmonds took an impressive third place with Joe Smith in ninth, Lewis Buchanan in 16th, Matti Lehikoinen 24th and Al Bond 29th.
