After a very succesful inclusion of MTB in to the UK School Games last year in Sheffield, a number of SW volunteers have teamed up with the Olympic Talent Programme & British Cycling to hold a 3 Day, 4 Stage XC race at Haldon Forest Park, Exeter for YOUTH & JUVENILE RACERS ONLY!

The event will not be just XC racing but will feature sprint eliminator heats / finals along with skills trials. If you read the latest articles on the British Cycling website, they all show that these type of skills, i.e. the Core Skills are what make great bike racers, couple this with speed and you're on the way to becoming the best you can be!

08 June: Sprint Eliminator heats & finals (Afternoon & Evening)

09 June:

MORNING - Time to put all those core skills sessions you've been working on into practice, Saturday will see skills time trials. Each skills station will be set out with 3 progressively harder skills to test your handling skills, balance & concentration. For your parents or coaches think Junior Kick Start from the 80's, for you racers, have a look at this link to get an idea of what to expect..... http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=Uv811TTIhU4

AFTERNOON: The Combine! - This will see an XC race with start positions based on your times and penalties from the AM session and included many skills already done so, if you finished first with no penalties, you'll start on the front row, be warned, you could end up with 5 minutes!

10 June: Time to RACE XCO! XCO is XC Olympic and for Elite riders, this means a 15min Lap, we've prorated it and so the course will be a approx. 10min lap for the fastest youths featuring all of climbs, technical sections and fast fire roads you'd expect to see in an XC race but condensed to give faster racing, just the way we like it!

Any club, region or team wishing to enter a team into the Ground Weaver Classic, good news, you can! Riders are entered on an individual basis and then a maximum of 4 per team are nominated to the given team name. At the end of the event, the 4 riders will have their scores added and the team with the lowest score....... WINS!

Both Saturday & Sunday will have support races for all senior categories on the same course as the youth & juveniles. Final details to be announced but expect 60mins of flat out fun! Not long enough? Oh it will be on this course!

As an added incentive for parents to bring bikes too; all parents of competitors will receive half price racing!

Online entry for main Event only with a closing date of 25th May, what are you waiting for!
