Review:
travelled from taunton for the day.
24quid for a day uplift was well worth it even though i came off on the first run busting my thumb up for the rest of the day.
Awesome DH trail though.
Seen some doin it on a hardtail - respect.
could do with more than the one trail down the hill, however there are various points throughout the trail where there are 2 options, 2spots(med) or 3spots(difficult).

I'd done bits of this before and the X.C. trail loads of times but sessioned the downhill properly yesterday... I don't think there is an uplift on Mondays or Tuesdays but pushing/riding back to the top is possible, get a map and work out the short cut! The technical top section starts with a load of fairly small jumps which you can take as fast or slow as you like, then things give way to big rocks, roots, step downs and rocky berms before a rough drop towards a 90 degree turn into a tunnel. Definately a potential nose breaker that one (didn't have a full face lid...) Then there are some pretty steep descents over rocky drop offs, more berms and a table or two. I actually saw a flock of fucking SHEEP on the track at this point, they get out of the way pretty quick, but keep your eyes open! The bottom section starts with a deep looking drop from the road, which I didn't quite fancy (advice on that one?), before sliding all the way to a cattle grid, and then going flat out with some awsome berms and jumps which made my eyes water (no goggles). I took about 5 minutes and it takes a lot out of you, definately a serious bit of trail, but managable on a hardtail like mine. Goggles/full face a good idea though!!

Summary:
Comfortable uplift and excellent track.

Review:
Took the chance to ride here while we were meeting up with the family in Cardiff, an absolutely brilliant day out. The uplift was really comfortable in the minibus and the specially built bike trailers meant everything was quick and efficient at the top and the bottom. The track itself is really well built, the top section of the red route starts with a really good berm that you can take as fast as you like and then continues into a fairly flat section that can be taken comfortably at any speed you like (for me, as fast as my stupid bike will let me :D). The middle section has some really nice flowy berms that lead into a wierd uphill section that you just seem to float up, no matter how slow you come in. Finally the bottom section is huge berms and jumps where youve just got to go flat out all the way down to the bottom, and if youre fast enough you might catch the second uplift and not have to wait for yours to come down :D

Only flaw is the uplift takes a very indirect route to the top of the hill and can take rather a long time, but all in all its definitely worth it :)

awesome.

Review:
yeah its good. freeride section is a bit rubbish, it only has 2 good drops, a tunnel (better to jump off than go through) some small jumps and a HUGE curved wallride. when i go i usually go there first to warm up before the DH. then i use some fast sections from the twrch trail to link onto the DH. the DH is really good. some big jumps near the bottom and a few on the way down too. lots of big rocks and switchbacks, step-downs, a 90 degree turn through a small tunnel, drop off a road, over a bridge, its all good well built stuff and some sections can be ridden really quickly, others bits, near the top mostly, are quite tight and technical and are not as fast. the uplift takes ages to get to the top mind.
