Great trail!

Review:
I love this trail beause it is really fun and glentress is the best. The spooky wood descent is good but the climb up to it is huge, dont let that stop you though when you have experienced the whole trail you will want to do it again and again and again....

What a ride. Just fantastic.

Review:
Carnt wait to do the 5 hour dive to do it again this summer 09. What a rush, hard climbs and fast decents. What a set up, great cafe, great showers and great mtb shop.

If you only ride once this year, make it Glentress.
Enjoy

The climb is worth it

Review:
It is a really good all round trail which is hardtail friendly. I could spend all day on in if I can drag myself away from the freeride park.

I would say that the top of the trail is really fast and flowing, as you go into the forest it is still fast but get a bit technal. Also there is a nice bit of north shore on the red/black part of the trail. Again it in not technal is it really nice to ride.

Were ever you are riding at Glentress /Innerleithen it is worth getting a copy of the trail map, which you can get free of the Forestry Commission website in PDF form.

Summary:
Superb route, big big climb, fun descents

Review:
This is a must do trail for sure and excellent fun descents after the long haul climb (especially 'one big long haul' from the Hub carpark).

The Spooky Wood descent is superb and can be repeated as many times as you want by return to the summit on the fire road and spooky wood climb. You can also include a play in the freeride park and maybe also try to include the excellent blue section descent called 'electic blue' which starts at buzzard nest car park next to the freeride park.

We just did the whole red route once. I think if I do it again, which I will, I will probably start from the Buzzard Nest car park and ride upto Spooky wood and just keep riding that section again and again, until I really nail it, it's that good.

However, for me, for a route to score max points, it has to offer a bit of everything, within the red grade, of course. From what I remember, the route lacks any slow speed techy trials skills. There are no northshore, rock garden, skills obstacles. That's just a personal pref, it is just fast flowing fun!!!

Summary:
Well designed fast flowing Red Trail, just fantastic for everyone.

Review:

The first thing you notice when you arrive here is the amount of riders which shows its really popular, and thats because its class.

This place has all the facilities that you would expect such as Toilets, Showers, Bike hire, cafe.

The trail starts off with a climb up but its not to steep and is definitely worth it. Once your up its time for the fast flowing single track back down that launches you over jumps and around steep berms. Then you come to the Spooky Forest which is just fantastic, you will ride over some north floor and a few small bridges very fast flowing.

Then its more single track mania eventually leading you back to the car park with a big smile on your face.

This trail is just fantastic and keeps you wanting more, You must go at least once.

Enjoy.
