Well Built but Lacking Some Fundamental Fun Factor

Review:
Consisting of a well maintained Blue route, Red route and pump track in stunning scenery with an onsite cafe on paper Glenlivet should be amazing but it just lacks something.

The blue starts well with a fast swoosh-y switchback'd blast through trees that feels like the forest chase scene from Star Wars but shortly after joining the Red (which is essentially an extension loop of the Blue) things just fizzle out. Long fire road drags are punctuated by occaisional stretches of somewhat lacklustre single track that all blurs together after a while. The first descent after reaching the highest point has a handful of allegedly Black graded features. Soon enough the forgettable singletrack returns followed swiftly by more fire road slogs. After rejoining the Blue the final descent to the car park is enjoyable but doesn't make up for what came before.

Over all the experience was disappointing and I won't be rushing back.

Great fun

Review:
This is probably the highest start to a trail that I have done. It is a slog to climb up to the top of the upper red, however it is more than worth it.

Unfortunately the same can not be said of the lower red, we tend to do the upper twice and just follow the lower down when finished.

Watch out for Gully Leap..........

Loads of fun

Review:
The visitor centre can be hard to find as it isnt sign posted that well. once you have found it it is a nice friendly cafe, the red trail is loads of fun with some brilliant swooping singletrack and some great views. It was very packed surface when I was there so it was very fast. There is a cheeky climb to the top of the nearest hill(mountain), but definitely worth it as the views are brilliant. The downhill singletrack after it seems to go on forever with plenty of berms jumps and drop, even though they have chicken runs but they should be easy enough for any competent rider. It is lots of fun cutting through the trees and pumping on the undulating trail and guaranteed to put a smile on your face. Definitely will be back there to ride the red route again...
