Summary:
A short loop on slope with all kinds of obstacles. Just go round and round.

Review:
This is a skills loop. You'll find it not far from the start point where you pick up the sign posts for the mountain bike trails. It starts with an up-hill section which is an introduction to winding up hill single track. You can bypass this using the forest road if you like. You're now at the top of the course and ahead of you is a single track winding it's way down hill with various obstacles which vary in difficulty. There's always an easy option round the obstacles which is great for riders who aren't quite ready for the black grade stuff. You can pick and choose or tackle them all. You can ride over carefully or zoom down jumping off every thing you can find. If you're just learning you can stop and read the board for each obstacle where you'll find the name of the obstacle type, and tips for dealing with it. What more can you ask for?! Every thing is there. Huge bomb holes, bermy bends, drops and steps, rocky technical stuff, a bit of north shore, skinnies and even a seesaw, and because it's a loop you can go round and round as much you like. It's a great confidence booster.

Great Run

Review:
The black route is a great loop in Hamsterley and has loads of nice technical rocky sections and rooty sections - makes for an interesting ride
