The Marin Trail is a proper mountain bike trail in every sense of the term. Big climbs, big descents, brilliant singletrack and truly awesome scenery make this a trail to remember.
Most, but not all, of the climbs are on forest roads and tracks giving you time to take in the views of the mountains of snowdonia, and all of the descents are on the sweetest singletrack. The singletack varies from very tight, technical and rocky to wonderfully open and flowing, from dark forest to exposed ridgelines.
Gwydyr Forest is just north of Betws-y-Coed. From the north take the A55 west from Chester to Llandudno then go south on the A57 towards Betws. About four miles before Betws turn left on the B5106 and Gwydyr Forest Centre is on the right after about 500m. From the South head to Shrewsbury then take the A5 through Llangollen to Betws-y-Coed. Just after Betws turn right on the B5106 and the forest centre is on the right after 2.5 miles.

The Marin trail is no more! Don’t worry, it still exists but under a new name and as a bonus it gets a new little version for when time is short, or you just want a quick blast.

The popular Marin Mountain Bike Trail in North Wales has a new 2km section of fresh singletrack, graded red and looking like a whole lot of fun in this video.
Please note: Distance is calculated as air distance or "as the crow flies" the most direct route between two points, so the distance by road maybe slightly longer.
