The BikeGlenlivet trails have already proved a great attraction for families as well as experienced riders, with more than 10,000 visitors using the trails since they opened last year. The new cycling track will include numerous jumps, bumps and berms (banked corners) designed to allow riders to have a bit of fun and hone their riding skills.

The 75 metre pump track will be constructed at the BikeGlenlivet hub, beside the Coffee Still Cafe and will provide another option for younger riders and for those who want a little bit of a warm-up before tackling the trails. Work is expected to begin late September and be open for use in early October in time for the school holidays.

The Glenlivet Estate Countryside Manager, Vicky Hilton, said:

“Our trails have attracted a fantastic amount of interest and thousands of visitors since they opened last year and the spin-off opportunities for the local community are significant. We want to keep the momentum going and, having listened to the visitor feedback, add to the existing facilities so that the trail centre continues to deliver a great experience for all visitors."

“The pump track will be immediately accessible when people arrive at the BikeGlenlivet centre, providing a mini-cycling loop that will offer a warm-up for riders before heading out on the longer trails. It will also be a fun facility for youngsters who are eager to get going while their parents are getting ready or enjoying a coffee.”

Set in the Cairn Daimh forest near Tomintoul the BikeGlenlivet centre and its trails - Blue Graded 9km and the Red Graded 22km loop - have a four star rating from VisitScotland. The trails have boosted local tourism trade, and inspired the inaugural Rock&Road biking festival in May.
