Team Manager Nigel Page brings us this report:

Sam Hill, the five-time Downhill World Champion hasn’t been able to find the form or passion he has had so many times over his downhill career of late, but has really been enjoying a new challenge racing selected EWS races, especially on the natural tracks and with the limited practice you get which plays into the hands of probably the best bike handler there has ever been.

After three races this year in the EWS where Sam has placed second twice and eighth once, Sam took the win in Valberg after battling all weekend with the 10-time Downhill World Champion Nicolas Vouilloz. What a race it was for the fans with two of the all time greatest downhill riders battling for the win.

Speaking after the race, Sam said: “It feels awesome. I tried not to think about my lead all day and just attack each stage as it came. Nico kept me honest all day, I knew I had a little lead and so I just tried to get down without any mistakes. It’s been a massive goal of mine to win one of these races, so to win one already is awesome.”

A huge congratulations Sam for your first EWS win, everyone is super proud of you buddy.
